Recipe for pickled mustard veggies
Ingredients for the pickled mustard veggies recipe 6 pounds of prepared mixed vegetables 2 quarts of vinegar half a pound of sugar 1 ounce of cornflour 1 ounce of turmeric (borrie) 1 ounce of dry mustard 1 teaspoon of ground ginger a pinch of cayenne pepper Method Make a boiling brine with a quart of water and 1 or 2 ounces of salt Place the prepared vegetables in the brine and boil for 4 minutes Drain the vegetables and then spread them roughly onto a cloth to help them dry Boil about three quarters of the vinegar and mix the remaining quarter with the turmeric, ginger, cornflour, cayenne, mustard and sugar in a bowl Stir in the boiling vinegar and then return to the pan and stove, and boil for a further 5 minutes Remove from the heat and put in the vegetables Leave to get … Read entire article »

Making and selling beverages like ginger beer, lemon beer, pineapple beer and lemonade is extremely interesting and rewarding. I include several recipes below. Generally, doubling your cost per litre, and then rounding that figure off is accurate enough, as this can be a profitable side-line. Obviously the fruit flavours will fluctuate seasonally, and I recommend that when you are able to get your fruit at a lower price, you do not drop your selling price too much. A small operation, making 20 bottles a week, to sell at a flea market on the weekend, would have the following costs. Fruit and vegetable sales and deliveries are a wonderful source of extra income. It is an easy and enthralling market to get involved in, and has few entry barriers. On a part time basis, about 3 hours a day, my ex-wife was earning between R750.00 and R1000.00 a week. Granted, not everyone will do that kind of turn-over, and some will exceed it. It’s really easy to weave. It’s fun too, especially when you realise the more you weave, the more creative you get and all sorts of weaving ideas start popping into your head. What is weaving? We South Africans earned R500 from Google Adsense last month
And the month before we earned about R250, so the speed of growth and improvement in income is looking promising! NEWSFLASH! (July 2010). Breeding dogs for an extra income from home
