Make money writing short articles on an Adsense revenue sharing site

Come on South Africans – and, actually, just about anyone else from anywhere else – if you have a computer at home, and are connected to the Internet, you can make some money at home, in your spare time, or even fulltime if you work hard enough at it. It’s not that difficult – time-consuming perhaps, and may take a while before you earn a fairly decent income online, from writing, but you can if you want to.

It is not even essential that you get your own website or blog to write articles and earn from clicks on your Google Adsense ads that would be displayed on the pages of your blogs or websites – you can join a site, for free, that shares it’s Google Adsense revenue, like Xomba does.

So why not rather just start your own blog since there are many free ones like Blogger and WordPress, that you could use to have yourself set up in next to no time?

I’m not saying never consider your own blog, and, ideally, using both Xomba and your own blogs would be a good idea, but if you’re not yet too sure of how to go about blogging, but still enjoy writing, then perhaps start out at Xomba, and grow from there.

Another reason to write short little articles (minimum 150 words) or write short little bookmarks (minimum 50 words) on Xomba instead of, or in addition to on your own blogs, is that Xomba gets a lot of traffic. You ultimately need visitors to your articles for the ads next to them to be seen. If your site or blog is still new, or you feel you are still learning a lot about the Internet and making money online from your writing efforts, start with Xomba, or use it as well as starting your own blogs.

Yet another reason to join Xomba, is the community aspect of it. Get to know the other writers, make new friends, comment on their articles. They will visit your Xomba article pages too, just because you’re nice and friendly (and do be genuine!), and, thus, your article receives even more hits, helping it climb in search engine rankings, so that the general public also find your article when they’re looking for more info on a topic you’ve written about and, perhaps, click on your ads (which are mostly related to what you have written about, so should also interest the readers of your article).

Write about just about anything that interests you, it makes it easier to write more often. Really, it’s not that difficult to write 150 words (this article right here at this point is already 440 words) – what may, however, be difficult for you, is to write often, uploading your content to Xomba often. You need to write often if you expect to make money from writing on Xomba – but don’t let this put you off. If you browse around on Xomba, and read some articles by other members (related to how much they’re earning from Google Adsense via Xomba), you will see they, too, didn’t make anything at first, or made next to nothing, but they stuck to it, and their efforts were rewarded – I haven’t gone through every last article, I don’t think, but some members are claiming to be making as much as R18 000 per month from Xomba. This is obviously not just from uploading one article every two or three days, so if you’re not prepared to put in effort, to be patient, and not to give up, you may as well leave this page right now, and carry on trying those so called get rich quick schemes, but, in my eyes, trying to make money from something that seems to be really honestly working for others, even if I try for a year or more, seems better than joining various get rich quick programs for a year, and nothing comes from it. Hey, even if, by some bad luck, your topics are not that interesting and not too many people visit them, at first, anyway, you can always start a more interesting blog later, that turns out to be pretty successful, and incorporate linking to your Xomba articles within your blog, and get more traffic to them that way (and more people seeing those ads next to your Xomba articles).

So, what is an Adsense revenue sharing site? Well, Xomba, is one, and this is what happens:

You sign up for a Google Adsense account (if you don’t already have an account with Google Adsense, otherwise you just add your Adsense publisher id to your Xomba profile settings) and when Xomba displays ads next to your articles or bookmarks, and they get clicked, the money Xomba earns is split 50/50 with you!

You can earn even more on Xomba by referring others to join. Whatever those who signed up using your affiliate link earn, you get 10% (and they don’t lose 10% off their Adsense earnings, Xomba does.) Cool, huh?

A warning, though, don’t run around merely promoting your affiliate link and never writing anything on Xomba if you expect to earn – imagine if all others did that too – no articles and no ads displayed! – the other thing is that once a person clicks your affiliate link (wherever you have it displayed) is that they need to join Xomba before leaving the site – and how many people browse around first, when they visit a new site, and come back only later (they won’t be your affiliate if they come back only later), so don’t totally rely on that. Write write write is the answer.

Look, if you don’t want to click the Xomba links I have further above this point, just because you’re thinking “hm, all she’s doing is trying to get others to join up so that she can earn from THEIR efforts,” then don’t. Click this one, which just goes directly to the site (you can check lower left corner of your screen and see there is no affiliate link after the address.)

I pretty much want to help South Africans (and anyone else too) see that it is indeed possible to earn a living from writing online (or at least some extra income) online, if they only just try, and put in the effort. Nothing will happen if you do nothing (besides maybe shriveling up and dying from dehydration and starvation.)

I have been blogging since 2007. For years I made a few bucks here and there with Adsense and some affiliate sells, but I wasn’t making enough to quit the day job for sure. I tried getting traffic from Adwords, SEO, social sites, and even email. The problem was that I just couldn’t get enough traffic to really make anything. Then I found out about a new way to buy traffic for so freaking cheap that it was nuts. I could then send that cheap traffic to my blogs, get enough sales to realize a 1000% return on my investment, and suddenly my life was changed. I’m banking $300+ on a bad day now, and the future is looking way better. If you’re sick and tired of only getting a handful of visitors to your blog, check this site out. It changed my future, and maybe it can help you too. You will go from a few dozen visitors a day to thousands! —> Blog Traffic Secret

I am new to blog writing. This article looks helpful for me for going on. Thanks for the details. But still I did not receive adsence approval. So waiting for this before starting with xomba. But I am not finding how to shorten googles appvl. Because they are taking too long time.

Hi gkbria, and thanks for the comment. If you’re new to blog writing, a big adventure awaits you, and it can be a lot of fun. It’s also a lot of hard work, and lots of time reading and learning (all for free on the Internet though!)

What some people do who struggle to get an Adsense account approved because the URL (website address) they use when they sign up for a Google Adsense account is not getting much traffic (visitors) – We think you need at least 50 a day – what these people do is sign up for a Google Adsense account using their profile URL of a writing site they’ve joined, like Xomba. Perhaps a good idea is to first write a few articles for the site, even if it’s just 3 or 4, then follow any instructions on the writing site on how to sign up for Google Adsense using your profile URL on the writing site as the URL you submit when you sign up for Adsense.

Google Adsense seems to sometimes approve Google Adsense account applications more easily if the URL you submit when you sign up is for a busy site that is already getting lots of traffic. Once you have an account, and your Adsense publisher ID, you can start adding ads to your own sites too.

But remember that not everyone visiting a site clicks on ads, and if you have hardly any visitors in the first place, you need to work at improving traffic to your site. Write a lot, link to your web or blog pages from other sites, bookmarking sites, and social networking sites. Do some keyword research using the Google Adwords Keyword tool.

Your English, spelling and grammar needs to be fairly good for writing sites to allow your articles to be published on their sites. If your English is not too hot, use microsoft word when you write your articles, so that it can check grammar and spelling for you, correct wherever there are errors, then copy and paste your articles into the writing site where you submit them on the writing site.

Adsense is not the only way you can earn money on some writing sites. Some sites also share their ad revenue just from page views of your articles, and pay you when you’ve earned a certain amount of money, via your PayPal account. Sites like Wikinut, Helium, and Triond.

RedGage, too, you don’t need an Adsense account to earn money on their site. They pay differently.

Good luck with your writing and blogging adventures!
