We received our first ever Google adsense cheque (check?) in the post today!
UPDATE (JULY 2010) Here’s a photo of me holding my THIRD GOOGLE ADSENSE CHEQUE. Thanks to Google, Google adsense, and all the website owner marketers who use pay per click (PPC) advertising methods, we received our very first adsense paycheck in the mail today! Also see We South Africans earned R500 from Google Adsense last month We’re in East London in South Africa, and are very proud of our cheque for R1000. It took a long time to reach the minimal payout amount (for South Africans it’s R1000) – about a year – , but then again, we didn’t have all that many pages on our websites or blogs when we first added adsense coding to our pages. The last few months, when we started adding more pages to our sites (and more … Read entire article »

www.workfromhomeideas.co.za is our new work from home ideas website!
We were checking the availability of domain names for something else, possibly a web design client, can’t remember now, and just suddenly thought of checking to see if workfromhomeideas.co.za was available too – and it was! We couldn’t believe it wasn’t already taken, (workfromhome.co.za is already taken), so took it! Our new work from home ideas website is only one page at the moment, – update January 2010: the site now has 5 pages, and we will still be adding more – as we’re pretty busy with some writing, web design, and graphic design work right now, but as soon as we get the chance, we’ll be adding many pages to our new site, which will help people work from home, or start their own business, and help people to stop … Read entire article »

How to avoid copyright problems and write using your own words
It’s expected at primary school level already. When children do projects or write information down for orals based on information retrieved from other sources such as books, magazines or websites, they are told to “write it in your own words.” For people who bother to take the time to do this properly, it can be frustrating and a lengthy process, but is best if they want to avoid any copyright infringement if the original author comes across identical work somewhere, especially if the original author sees no mention of his or her name on the new, but identical document. Another reason to write new work in your own words is manners. Be polite. Somebody worked hard, or had already taken the time to learn about a subject, to write about it. How … Read entire article »

How to make money from taking photographs for accommodation establishments
There are an amazing amount of accommodation establishments all over the world. I take photographs for accommodation establishments in East London, South Africa It’s not that difficult taking photographs for b&b’s, self catering and guest house establishments. I use just a small 5meg digital camera. Marketing your photographic service is where the hardest work comes in, but if you’re serious about making some money, even if just part time, from taking photos of bedrooms, bathrooms, conference facilities, … Read entire article »

How we work
Lol! This is a March 2008 post taken from our old blog, ( deleted the post now, but we are going to revive the old blog )when I’d barely started my web design business, and we never ended up working exactly like this. Instead, we went with the flow, and developed a nice little routine, that we usually follow, when getting a new web design client. See out current routine here: Rough Idea of the Email Info we Send “We utilize six stages in our website design process. Stage 1: First Consultation. Following our initial discussion regarding your web requirements, be it personal, by e-mail or telephone, we prepare a free proposal document detailing your requirements, and our proposal. At this stage we also present any additional ideas and advice, together with the costs, … Read entire article »

How Difficult is it to Find a Decent Job in East London, South Africa? July 2009
I would say it is considerably difficult to find a decent job in East London, possibly in the whole of South Africa too. More and more people, I find, are rather looking at working for themselves. Tony Flanigan is my boyfriend and is unemployed. In a time period of about 18 months Tony has applied for work in East London at over 100 places with no luck. He has been for many interviews, and has often been short-listed down to the last three, but always loses out to somebody else. He has even applied for jobs that don’t pay much with no luck. He is 49, and has a good curriculum vitae, a good fairly recent work history of ten years as a market agent in Bloemfontein, but obviously also has a … Read entire article »
