Well, so many people, these days, want their own Wordpress blog, hosted on their own server space, but that’s where it ends, just wanting and dreaming, as they’re not sure what to do next -

so we at TnT in East London, South Africa, have decided to offer a new service (an additional service to our other services) where we steer people to view FREE Wordpress blog themes (templates) (the look of your blog), for example at WordPress themes or to use the WordPress theme filter to make their search easier

and they choose whichever Wordpress theme they like best after looking through all the free templates – and there are many to look through – so, it is quite likely one will find exactly what one likes, without having to worry about paying us or anybody else to customize the template further (different colour text, or different top header banner image etc),

and then

we register a domain for you,

set up your hosting,

upload the Wordpress blog to your server space,

give you your log in details – which you can change thereafter if you like (and you’re worried we may access your site or control panel without you wanting us to), -

and,

you’re away!

Once your Wordpress blog is up, you can learn (for free) how to use it, add content to it, as well as add photos, from a WordPress lessons site, or,

if you generally know your way around the Internet and various social sites, you’ll probably pick it up as you go along – creating your pages and categories and posts. If you do need a little assistance from us, we’ll charge extra, so do try get it sorted on your own!

We do have some of our own free WordPress lessons posted on Tony’s personal blog, too.

We’re just pretty busy right now, so still trying to find the time to create a nice new page for our website, describing this new Wordpress blog hosting service of ours in more detail. Trying to find the time though! – for so much – as always!

but then it’s not really really your own as it’s just part of another website/blog and there will be thousands of other people who have at least part of their domain name on the Internet the same as yours, so,

to be more important-sounding and unique, – and often for better findability by search engines too,

more and more people are opting to pay for the hosting and domain registration of their blogs, so that they (the blogs) are more personal and unique. So this is where we come in, to help you out, getting set up.

This blog you’re on now is Wordpress and is part of our own website server space. We do also have a stand alone Wordpress blog www.claybricktrust.co.za which is the type of Wordpress blog you’re probably after (A Wordpress blog with its/your very own Internet address) – we can help you with this.

What would you pay to get your very own Wordpress Blog like this one (although this one is part of our website) or like our claybricktrust.co.za stand alone one? (We don’t mean identical to either look as there are many different free Wordpress themes you could choose from – we mean the idea and that it’s your own.)

The main aim of a website or blog is usually to give visitors to it information about the services you offer, or the products you are selling. Sometimes a site is just about giving information to visitors about topics you are passionate about, or, if you want, you can combine these aims, or, your main aim might be to make money from your blogsite or blogging by having adverts on your site that you earn commissions from, or by selling advertising space.

We charge R120 for domain registration of a .co.za site (renewable yearly).

For hosting a Wordpress blog we charge R75 per month, or
R780 per year (works out at R65 per month).

There IS a smaller hosting package of R55 per month, or R480 per year, (works out at R40 per month) but we hardly ever recommend this smaller hosting package unless you are really really never going to load any photos to your blog, (because if your blog is just going to have text, this smaller package would do just fine for quite a while before you have to upgrade to the larger hosting package) (the smaller package should manage at least 150 pages of content if there are no photos involved – but considerably less if some photos are involved), but if you know you’re going to often be adding photos, and also if you’re planning on having lots and lots of pages of content, you may as well just start with the bigger hosting package right away.

Uploading the blog to your server: R120, once off.

Oh, almost forgot to mention – the hosting package (even the smaller one) includes unlimited email addresses should you want them (we would send you the set up details related to which operating system you use eg Vista or XP) eg info@… or enquiries@… or yourname@… etc etc! The hosting package (even the smaller one) also includes unlimited bandwidth – (there is no cap on the amount of traffic your site can receive.)

If you already have your own website, and are just wanting to add a Wordpress blog to it, ask your present website host or website designer to sort it out for you, once you’ve chosen a free template (but we’re not sure what they will charge you) – and do make sure there is enough space on the hosting package you have with them, to add a blog.

or, we would need your FTP log in details to upload it for you and would charge R140 for the upload which would include adding ONE link on ONLY your homepage of your existing website (a link that links to the blog) – we would need you to tell us where you want to see the link on the homepage – just a simple text link.

So that’s it, quite easy, and because of it being quite easy and quick for us, we really don’t charge a lot for this service. We charge more than the prices mentioned above if you need us to customize the blog a bit – but with so many free templates to choose from, you are not likely to need customization, unless you absolutely want it – ie have your logo appearing on every page etc – but of course you could even add it yourself if happy with it appearing off to the side as a text widget (can be an image) etc.
