The 2010 surfers marathon photos below were taken just for fun – and you can see quite a few more of these surfers marathon photos we took, on our other blog here:

We at TnT in East London do not only take photographs for clients (mostly for “where to stay” places in East London,) but also enjoy photography for fun. At the moment we are using just a small 5 meg camera, but it’s serving its purpose well enough for us now.

We enjoy “wildly rambling about” in East London and the surrounding East London areas, with a camera or two, and having fun capturing what’s going on around us, or capturing scenes, subjects, or “moods” that we admire, or that inspire us in some way.

We work hard as web design, photography and writing freelancers, in East London, and while our business is still growing (and we have a staff of only two), we can’t really afford a lot of time off work or afford to go on vacation, so we grab little bits of “time off” here and there instead, camera mostly always with us.

We enjoyed our “little outing” to watch the runners competing in the Surfers Marathon yesterday the 13th of February 2010 – and hopefully we’ll be running it ourselves in 2011 – we last ran the Surfers Marathon in 2008 – see the “The 2008 Surfers Marathon was my 13th Surfers Marathon” story.

You will see in the one photo included here that we had no idea that the Surfers Marathon runners would be diverted away from Gonubie Boardwalk, and we quite expected all the runners to come clambering and splashing over the rocks and through the splashing edges of the ocean at Gonubie Beach under the boardwalk during this race yesterday. We soon realised they were not. Did this happen last year too?

We took a few photos at

the Gonubie River crossing,

near the Gonubie Hotel,

and at Bonza Bay beach.

We are also keen to know if the mat next to the Gonubie Hotel that runners had to cross so that their ankle bands containing their details could be recorded was also used near the start of the race?
That would certainly help eliminate problems surrounding Surfers Marathon walkers sometimes starting ten minutes early with the runners (see this is mentioned in our other blog post about the Surfers Marathon.)

Well, all in all, it seems both spectators and entrants had fun in the sun and enjoyed the day, and we at TnT hope to join those brave and fit runners and walkers next year!
