SEO People Who Promise Or Guarantee You That Your Website Will Be Found on Page 1 of Google
Three people approach a Search Engine Optimization specialist, and ask the SEO specialist if he can get their websites found on page one of Google for a specific search term or word. The specialist says yes, he guarantees it.
In the meantime, during that same week, one hundred website owners with the same wish approach other SEO specialists who all guarantee the same thing.
These website owners are all upset when they don’t get the results they wanted, and paid for.
Some of those 103 website owners may get what they wanted and paid for, and be very happy, but it will never be more than ten that appear on the first page of Google search results! There is only room on page 1 for ten results! Also, even if you make page one, that’s not to say you’re going to stay there. If Search Engine Optimization specialists manage to fulfil their promises to clients after you, you’re going to be pushed out of your page one spot.
People also need to be careful of the specifics that are guaranteed. An SEO specialist may guarantee page one findability, but may not say for which search words or terms. It is relatively easy to be found on page one of Google if somebody searches for your domain name, as no two domain names are exactly alike.
What can you do about this problem if you are desperately wanting that page one position for a particular search phrase?
You need to accept that there isn’t much you can do. What you can at least do is spend time trying to find a good website marketer or specialist who doesn’t promise the best results, but who promises that he will do all he can to do his best for you. Find a friendly company that communicates well, and immediately explains to you that they have no guarantees to offer you. As much as you really want guarantees, realise that they are impossible for website marketing companies to fulfil, and rather go with the people who will honestly do their best for you, and who you can trust.

I totally agree with SEO you can get great results if you know what you are doing, however I recently heard of one Apparent SEO expert charging $3000 for what I know was about 1/1/2 hours work! I taught the same website owner how to do her own in about that time – on the phone! The problem is that there is so much mystique centred around SEO with so called experts talking about algorithms ect.. It is a system and yes it does change, but essentially the same tactics with small revisions are being used today as were being used a few years ago and so most site owners need to know that it is a step by step procedure and if you do A with consistancy, B will result. Great post – let’s keep ‘em honest.
