Why did iStock Photo reject these 3 images? Any advice please?

I registered at iStock Photo and uploaded 3 images that they rejected. They give the advice to read through the iStock Photo guidelines and requirements, which I did numerous times, and to submit another 3 images three days later. The three photos below are what I uploaded three days later, but they were rejected too. They do not tell me why exactly, but just suggest to again go through the guidelines before submitting another 3 photos 7 days later.

Are these photos really that bad?

Does anyone please have tips on how I can improve my photos?

I am a member of RedBubble too, and, for some reason, these photos seem to look better there, so I must be making technical mistakes with resizing and dpi settings?

I have only a small 5meg digital camera. As iStock Photo requires quite large images, is having only a small megapixel digital camera my problem? Is there any way around improving the quality of my photos without getting a new camera?

Lagoon Driftwood and Sandprawn Holes
I took this photo at Cintsa East at the Cintsa East Lagoon during a school fishing trip my younger son went on. Tony and I went too to help the children learn how to dig for sand prawns, thread the sand prawns onto hooks, and fish in the lagoon.

Running into Gonubie River
This is a photo of my two sons in Gonubie, running into the Gonubie River, near the river mouth. The tide was coming in, and they were enjoying cooling down after an afternoon of school sport, and before their karate lesson started. I realise this photo is pixelating, especially visible in the main splash in the photo. This photo looks much better on RedBubble, so I must have done something different when uploading it to iStock, and I’m not sure what I did when uploaded it to RedBubble! Advice please?

Tree Bark, posterised

As iStock also accepts abstract photography, and background images, even if filters have been used, I tried getting this photo of tree bark on a tree at Saint Patrick on The Hill in Hogsback accepted too, but also without any luck. I used a posterise filter on the photo, but some pixelation is still visible here and there.

Please advise!

    Teresa,
I’ve had difficulty getting iStock to accept photos. They offer little advice or help.
Clustershot.com accepts any and every photo you send. Try them.
