Looking at your business from different angles

Just like exercise is good for the body, so too is any kind of exercise that stimulates creative thinking when it comes to your business, expanding your business, or advertising your business.

Lists and making lists is an easy exercise and is often not seen as that important, but try it and see how your brain and your creative thinking brightens up and improves your business. You have nothing to lose other than some ink out of your pen or some time at your computer typing.

Do you really need to pay rent for your shop or office? Can you not run your business from home?

Would you like to dispatch your service or product to people all over the world, and not just in East London or South Africa? What’s stopping you? Eliminate the things stopping you from doing what you want, or would like to try, and just do it.

Can your product be made slightly differently and then marketed to a different audience? Bigger, smaller, made from a different material?

Can existing shops or services make use of selling your product or service to their own clients or customers? Approach them.

Do you need more clients or customers? Can you hire students looking for an extra income and give them commission for selling your product or service?

How many different ways can you advertise your business? Are you using them all?

Just sit down, make lists, and think a bit.

The days of running a business according to outdated text-books are becoming history. Recent case studies prove that more and more businesses rely on lateral thinking, ingenuity, and flexibility to remain viable.
